Satellite classes are being designed for high potential mid-career managers who would like to study and enhance skill sets without interrupting their career. Also, according to DMC the supply of quality faculty is very short and they cannot reach out to the thousands of students across India. Hence the objective to start such classes. Other reason is that the cost of living and inflation which are going up day by day. Thus, if a student can get the best of education using technology as a platform it would save a lot of cost and time. Also, the cost of best of faculty is moving up while the availability is decreasing.

The other reason to foray in this area is that almost 97 per cent of information download happens from tutor to the students unlike MBA studies. It is always a one way data transfer from the faculty to the student. On the other hand the storage and technology cost has come done drastically which would help in setting up these classes.
